Daily Mile in West Berkshire
Thank you to all the schools that participated in the Daily Mile survey last October. It was fantastic to read the positive impact of the Daily Mile and how many schools are interested in starting in 2019. The report has also been shared with The Daily Mile Foundation, who were keen to read the survey results.  Click here to find out how your school can get involved.
 
Make a sugar swap

There is a new Change4Life campaign for families focusing on the amount of sugar children and young people consume. The message for us all is “Make a swap when you shop” The Change4Life website has loads of helpful information and ideas, here is a small example -

Change4Life is here to help your family cut back on sugar, with lots of great tips and ideas, so you can make some simple swaps:

·         discover easy ways to make a swap when you next shop
·         read our top swap tips

·         use our sugar calculator to see how much sugar your kids could be having in a day

Understanding the core elements of healthy lifestyles for children – workshop for professionals working with primary age children
26th February, 5th March and 13th March at Shaw House
The 2 hour workshop identifies the core elements of healthy lifestyles for children, the tools and resources available and the key messages to support the delivery of healthy lifestyles for primary age children. To find out more email the team wellbeing@westberks.gov.uk
