Management Information Systems (MIS) Support

The aim of the MIS Service is to provide a comprehensive and high quality offering that represents good value for money

The MIS Support Service is a comprehensive service to support Primary and Secondary schools in the use of their Management Information Systems. We support the core Capita SIMS and FMS modules used by West Berkshire Schools and Academies.

The service can include:

- Management of the annual support and entitlement agreement with Capita Children’s Services for use of SIMS and FMS in West Berkshire maintained schools and Academies
- Access via telephone, fax and e-mail to a dedicated Helpdesk
- Support with the preparation and production of statutory returns e.g. school census, workforce census, key stage returns
- A remote access service for problem resolution, with an option for site visits if required
- Software and technical support for the dedicated SIMS SQL Server in a secondary school or the Server / “School1” PC hosting SIMS in a Primary School
- Procedure instructions in order to comply with statutory initiatives
- Support to schools for software upgrades as required
- Advice on the use of SIMS & FMS
- Basic training on core data and the finance system
- Additional training/consultancy/school visits provided on a chargeable basis
- Workshops in accordance with the academic calendar to ensure that all users are able to complete business processes using their MIS
